In accordance with the principles set out in the Alberta Asbestos Abatement Manual prepared by the Human Services department of the Government of Alberta:

Selects the most appropriate techniques for the safe abatement of asbestos-containing materials.

Is aware of basic information on asbestos and asbestos products, health hazards, requirements for worker protection, safe work procedures, inspection criteria, applicable legislation and competency profiles for those persons involved in abatement activities.

Follows the best practices in asbestos abatement as work practices and precautions vary considerably with the type of material being removed, the amount of asbestos it contains, its condition and location.

Provides workers with a level of safety equal to or greater than those practices presented in the manual.

We follow applicable asbestos and asbestos work site legislation, which includes:

  • Hazardous Products Act (Federal)
  • Alberta Building Code
  • Alberta OH&S Act, Regulation and Code
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulation (Federal)
  • Alberta Environment
